Surprise Birthday Cake Card
I thought it would be fun to have the cat pop out of the cake for this surprise birthday cake card using the Best Day stamp set. So I devised a slider on the back of the card with a pull tab to slide the cat up from the cake! It’s so fun! Start by stamping and cutting out the bottom of the cake and top of the cat. Color them with the fun and bright In Colors – Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis, and Starry Sky. Then use the cake to measure the width you have to work with. Use the small rectangular label dies from the Fragrant Flowers dies to cut a horizontal slot behind the cake. Make sure the cat will fit through the slot. Then add a dimensional on the back of the cat to attach the 5″ x 3/4″ pull tab. Use one of the Pick a Punch Punches to punch the top of the pull tab.
Use foam adhesive strips to create a Channel for the pull tab to slide in and then use more in the corners and at the bottom to act as a stop for the pull tab. Super duper fun! Let me know if you make one by posting picture of yours on my Facebook page!
