Turning Partial Die-Cutting Upside Down!

🌼✨ Upside Down Partial Die-Cutting – A Twist on a Classic Technique! ✨🌼

If you love a clever card-making trick that makes people say “Wait—how did you DO that?!”—then you’ve gotta try Upside Down Partial Die-Cutting! It’s a fun twist on traditional die-cutting that lets your image peek out from the top and bottom of your card while keeping the middle intact. Trust me, it’s easier than it looks and totally wow-worthy! 😍

For this project, I used the gorgeous Thankful Garden Bundle—that flowers are seriously the star of the show.

Partial Die-Cutting Instructions

🌸 Start with a Basic White Thick card base, and stamp the large flowers image on the top and bottom of the card front.
🌸 Place the coordinating die over the flower, but this time, we’re flipping the technique—position your top cutting plate over only the bottom edge of the top flower, leaving the top of the flower exposed.
🌸 Run it through your machine—only the bottom will cut! Then use your Stampin’ Trimmer to cut horizontal lines from each side into the flower.
🌸 Repeat these steps with the bottom flower, with the cutting plate only covering the top of the flower.
🌸 Carefully lift the center, and boom—you’ve got a top-and-bottom-cut images of your flowers still perfectly in place!

✨ Add a clear Window Sheet behind the die-cut opening to magically float the top and bottom flowers—giving your card structure and style! 💫 Then, stamp a sweet sentiment in the center so it peeks perfectly through the window when the card is closed. It’s like a little surprise framed in florals! 🌸💌
