Top Flap Gatefold Card
I’m continuing the sunflower fun with another creative fold featuring the beautiful Stampin’ Up! Sunflower Fields Suite and Radiant Sunflowers Bundle!
This time I created a Top Flap Gatefold Card, and I love how this fold gives you several different surfaces to decorate. The card looks beautiful closed, but the real fun begins when you lift the top flap and open the two gatefold panels!
For the front, I let the gorgeous Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper do much of the work. I layered it behind a large circular focal point and added two stamped and die-cut sunflowers from the Radiant Sunflowers Bundle. The simple “ENJOY” greeting keeps the focus on those beautiful flowers and patterned paper.
When you lift the top flap, you discover the plaid Designer Series Paper on the gatefold panels. Then, when those doors open, another sunflower pattern is revealed inside along with plenty of room for writing your message. I love being able to feature coordinating patterns throughout one card!
Fun folds like this are one of my favorite ways to make a card feel extra special without needing tons of complicated embellishments. The opening mechanism gives the recipient a little surprise while the Designer Series Paper adds so much color and detail.
