Butterfly Double Gatefold Card
🦋 Double Gatefold Card with the Beautiful Butterfly Bundle
Looking for a card design that’s both elegant and a little unexpected? This Double Gatefold Card featuring the Beautiful Butterfly Bundle from the Beautiful Bokeh Suite is the perfect project to add a touch of charm and texture to your cardmaking!
This card opens with a unique double gatefold that reveals a beautifully layered butterfly front and center. I love how this fold gives the card extra movement and makes it feel truly special from the moment it’s opened.
✨ Supplies Used:
- Beautiful Butterfly Bundle (stamp set, die & hybrid embossing folder)
- Beautiful Bokeh Designer Series Paper
- Elements of Text Stamp Set
- Coordinating ink, cardstock, and adhesives
🛠️ General Directions:
- Create the Base: Start with a piece of cardstock measuring 5 1/2″ x 11″. Score at 1 3/4″, 3″, 8″, and 9 1/4″ to form the double gatefold.
- Add the DSP: Use coordinating pieces of Beautiful Bokeh DSP to decorate each panel. This suite is filled with soft, dreamy patterns that work beautifully for this design.
- Stamp + Emboss: Stamp the butterfly, then run it through the hybrid embossing folder with the coordinating die. This step is SO satisfying—it cuts and embosses at the same time, giving your butterfly gorgeous texture and dimension!
- Add Background Details: I used the circular text stamp from Elements of Text behind the butterfly to add visual interest and a hint of texture without overwhelming the focal point.
- Assemble + Finish: Adhere your butterfly to the front fold, add a sentiment if you wish, and voilà—your card is ready to delight!
