Fern & Flora Fun Fold Card
There’s just something extra special about a fun fold card that has a little surprise when you open it! This Fern & Flora Fun Fold Card combines beautiful botanical patterns, layered greenery, and a sweet butterfly with a fun fold that looks impressive but is surprisingly easy to create.
I used Stampin’ Up!’s Fern & Flora Bundle to add lots of gorgeous dimension to the front of the card. I love the contrast of the deep blue with the fresh green foliage, and that little pop of color from the butterfly really brings the whole design to life. The “Thankful for You” sentiment makes this a wonderful card for sending a little appreciation to someone special.
And of course, you can completely change the look simply by switching up the Designer Series Paper, colors, embellishments, and greeting. Once you know the basic measurements, this is a fun fold you’ll want to make again and again!
Basic Fun Fold Instructions
Card Base
- Cut cardstock to 6-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
- Score at 2″
- Fold along the score line and burnish well.
Fun Fold Piece
- Cut a coordinating piece of cardstock to 10-1/2″ x 3-1/2″
- Score at:
- 2″
- 3″
- 5-1/2″
- 8″
- Fold along the score lines to create the dimensional fun fold section.
Adhere the folded piece to your card base, then decorate the different panels with your favorite Designer Series Paper.
Finish your card with stamped or die-cut images from the Fern & Flora Bundle, a sentiment, embellishments, ribbon, or anything else that makes it your own.
I especially love how the layers of ferns and foliage add texture without overwhelming the pretty Designer Series Paper behind them. And that colorful butterfly is the perfect finishing touch!
